About me

Welcome to DNPDirect, your trusted source for nurse consulting and education in Long Beach, CA. My name is Melanie Altamirano-Cariaga, DNP, RN, AGACNP-BC, SCRN, and I created this consulting company dedicated to providing top-notch education and guidance to those pursuing nursing, hoping to start a second career in nursing, or seeking to obtain an advanced degree such as their Bachelor of Science (BSN), Master of Science (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. I have a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from CSULB, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from CSULA, a Masters of Science from CSULA, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from UCLA. With my education and experience, I strive to empower nurses with the knowledge and skills needed to excel and find their passion in their careers.

DNPDirect for your Stroke Center

In addition to 1:1 consulting, I will be offering Consultations at a Hospital Level for Stroke Programs in need of guidance and survey readiness. With nearly 10 years of Neurology/Stroke experience as a Stroke Program Coordinator and Nurse Practitioner, I have helped build and maintain certification for a primary stroke center, Thrombectomy Capable Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Programs. I have taken part in the success of 2 TJC Stroke Surveys and 4 DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center Surveys and I will be offering consulting and education for Hospitals in need.
